Note that poplaris officially supported bu IodéOS, but only at version 4. I have no idea whether the unofficial 5.1 build can be dirty flashed over the official v4 build or whether a format / factory rest is required. Feedback welcome!
There are problems - maybe intermittent - with WiFi on akari, akatsuki, aurora and xz2c so I have removed the 5.10 builds for these devices from the download server. I recommend sticking with 5.9 until we can get to the bottom of this. I have uploaded some log files for the team to look at, but interpreting them is above my pay grade
Similar problems are known and reproducible in v6 builds for these devices (which share a common hardware platform) which is why I was making v5 builds for them.
Thank you petefoth. I’ve read this info just before wanting to download… so perfect timing.
I’ll wait for the v6… issue might be corrected for both variants…
will iodéos be officially supported for other Sony devices in the near future or is it not yet being planned?
I am still a DivestOS user and are looking for an alternative because of the end of the project and the closest alternative to this is iodéos, which I know from the Kuketz Blog from Germany.
Unfortunately, iodéos is not yet officially supported for the Sony Experia XZ2C from iodé.
Since I use the Manjaro Linux on the PC, I can unfortunately not use the automatic iodé installer and would have to do it if then, for which I still lack good instructions that I can also implement easily and easily.
Where can I find the unofficial version of iodéos for the Sony Experia XZ2C as a zip file for download (please without microg) so that I can also install it manually via the Android ADB tools etc. in the terminal?
Because there are no files here.
If you can also publish the automatic Iodéos Installer as an Appimage for a wide variety of Linux Distros, so that you can use it, for example, under Manjaro Linux?
Not that I know of. From what I know, the Iodé team don’t really have the time or resources to support many more official devices. I plan to continue making and releasing unofficial builds for all the Sony devices which have official LineageOS support (and some which have only unofficial support) for the foreseeable future. I believe the @rik plans something similar for Google Pixel devices (see this post). We are also working on making it possible for these buids to be updated OTA, but that work is not yet done, and we don’t have an ETA
Thanks for pointing that out: when I removed the buggy Iodé 6 builds for this device (and for aurora, akari & akatsuki ir accidentally removed the Iodé 5 builds also. I have restored the Iodé 5 builds
Sorry, that’s not something that is on my ‘To Do’ list, and it’s not something I have the skills to do. Comprehensive installation instructions for these devices are available from their official LineageOS wiki pages (e.g. here. for xz2c). Just use the .zip and .img files from our download server rather than the LOS ones. You can always get support in these forums f you run into any problems with installation.
If the iode installer won’t run on Manjaro just install virtualbox on to your existing distro then install a Debian based distro on to your virtualbox. I only offer Debian as a solution purely because I can say it works from personal experience, but there are most likely several other distro’s that will also be compatible. Setting up and running the installer on Debian doesn’t even require the user to open up a terminal. At least I don’t remember having to do so.
Yes it’s different. On my setup WiFi connects to the wireless network, but but fails to get an ip address. Logcat at Iode get ip address failure - Pastebin.com It appears to be a problem related to IPv6.
If you would like to try it out, the build is available at xz2c .I would be good to new whether the problem is just with my device and setup. @vince31fr can’t reproduce the issue with official builds for devices using the tama platform
Hi Petefoth
I don’t own a xz2c so cannot test it. I own 4 XZ2 premium (yes… 4… I gotta stop buying them), one XZ2 and one XZ3; the XZ3 has some problems so it might not be the best platform for testing.
If I can make an Iodé 6 build for XZ2 Premium aurora, would you be able to test it? Testing won’t take long - just enable WiFi and try to connect to a wireless network.
EDIT: I won’t be able to make a build until the next Iodé 6 official release: upstream LOS and the v6.10 and v6-staging Iodé code wont compile without some changes . But it would be very helpful if you could test it when I can build it.
