WiFi errors with unofficial Iodé 6 builds for Sony `tama` platform devices (xz2c,aurora,akari,akatsuki)

See this post:.

The device will connect to the WiFi network but will fail to get an ip address. Until these problems are fixed, I will continue to make Iodé 5 builds for these devices

As I just confirmed in the other thread it doesn’t work for XZ2 premium. Do you have any idea where to start the debugging? I would love to help if possible though I have littel experience with phones.

Sorry - no. My next step is I have asked someone else to make a build, to see if the problem is in my build environment. After that, I’m not sure how to move forward

Thank you petefoth.
To ask someone else to make the build is quite a good idea. Maybe rik (?) has more luck..
Please let me know if I can help in any way with solving of these issues.

No that’s not the problem: @ronnz98 made a build and it has the same error as mine.

Actually, I’m relieved that it is not due to some difference in build environments. It just looks like there is some strangeness in the Iodé code which causes Iodé 6 builds to fail, while Iodé 5 builds (and official LineageOS and LineageOS for microG 22.1 builds) work just fine

So I’m back to having no idea how to move forward :frowning:

A build with no working WiFi is not an option for me (or for many others I think). I’ll carry on making Iodé 5 builds until we can fix this

That’s correct.

Lineage is releasing a working version of Android 15 for the Xperia XZ2C—can they pull that off?
By the way, that’s the exact same problem we’re seeing with the Xperia XA2 right now. Lineage is releasing a working version of Android 16—can they pull that off? Iodé probably can’t anymore. They’re just old devices, but they work great—yet they’re just being written off. It’s a bit sad…

If “official” Lineage builds exist, then it is relatively trivial to release iodéOS builds for the same underlying updated Android version. iodé has not yet abandoned any device they have officially supported and will rev that version if a new LOS stable update is released: but of course if the LineageOS base is not supported for newer versions then the subsequent iodéOS builds remain based on the older LineageOS base.

Unofficial builds of course are up to the unofficial build maintainers.

You have resurrected a very old thread. From what I know of the current situation
1, Up-to-date unofficial iodé 6 (Android 15) builds exist for
- XZ2 Compact xz2c ( - download it from here
- the other Sony tama platform devices: XZ2 akari, XZ3 akatsuki, XZ2 Premium aurora
2. Up-to-date official iodé 6 build exists for XA2 pioneer(download it from here
3. WiFi is working fine on all of these builds. I don’t recall when the WiFi problems with the unofficial iodé 6 builds went away, but nobody has reported any problems that I know of.

So I don’t know what problem or issue you have @Bellini. If you do have a problem with WiFi on an unofficial iodé 6 build for one of thee devices, please create a new issue thread, preferably with logs. Thanks
