In november I had a problem with my Moto G32 the tactile screen not working after upgrading to IodéOS 6.9.
I followed the suggestion in this thread and sideloaded a hotfix. This fixed the screen issue. However, I can no longer update OTA via the built in updater.
My question is now:
Should I
Back up my data and sideload to the latest update.
Or will it be better to do a clean install using the IodéOS install tool and hope the issue has been fixed in the latest main firmware. I guess this would allow me to use OTA in the future.
Kind regards
Rian
Hi Rian,
there are various threads in the forum about the update from iodéOS 6.x to 7.x
Any one of them will help you! Spoiler: no need to do any sideload or clean install. (backup is always a good idea, though.)
The following phones will soon receive an upgrade to version 7:
Brax 3
Fairphone 5
Google Pixel from 5 to 9
Motorola G32/G42/G52/edge 30/edge 40 pro
OnePlus 9/9 pro/11
Samsung series 10
Exceptionally, in order to install it, you will need to install a temporary update of the ‘Updater’ application if your current system version is 6. After installing iodéOS 7.0, you will need to uninstall the update of this application. If you don’t install that update, a popup will appear, s…
Hello,
it is a while that update, or should I better use the term upgrade IodeOS from 6.9 to 7.1 is available.
The link on the update app leads to a LineageOS page - I know that IodeOS is LineageOS based.
But I am not sure what to do with the information. Is there a upgrade guide for IodeOS release upgrades?
A) do I apply the LineageOS upgrade guide with adb sideload of the 7.1 IodeOS image and preserve data
or
B) should I use the official IodeOS installer and does this imply to be a fresh…
My update app was always updating my pixel 6a until 7.1 . Now it won’t automatically update the phone . Idk if I am that tech savvy to mess with manual updating hence why I paid for premium OS . This is no brainer that it should be working out ofthe box with paid version for sure right ???
