Aurora Store stuck on Fairphone 5

Completely dead, spoof does nothing. Is this an Aurora problem (non-Iode has the same problem) or an Iode problem (non-Iode Aurora works OK).

Need to know if im changing ROMs or just calling it a day and ordering an iphone or something . Need stuff to work. Apps are starting to not run due to being too old

I would first test another room before throwing it in the bin

I have managed to install the Aurora store!! It worked with the nightly version from the official website. Then I could also spoof another smartphone and update all apps.

Honestly the Fairphone 5 has been a raging bin fire so this isn’t exactly the only issue.

Anyway, very weirdly, Aurora store is now working perfectly for me now. All I did was:

  • Upgrade to Iode 6.5 - this seems to have let Aurora store install new apps at least but the upgrade screen still broken.
  • Then went to download history, went to each app I have still installed manually and updated it.
  • After every single app was manually updated, Aurora store now works. The check for update screen doesn’t keep spinning. 24h later I can see there are new updates available for apps and they install fine.

Weird… but one less problem :+1:

edit: no spoof needed

Hi @EthGahus ,

could you tag this thread with fairphone5 . It would be good to find this thread when one searches for the tag.
Thanks!

Regarding your Aurora Store:
I cannot reconstruct your problems on my phone and I have (unfortunately) no new idea except turning off “iode” for the time being or even “killing it”, i.e. closing “iode” hard from the App-Info menu.

Greetings, T.

This worked for me too!

Good if it works. Not a “pretty” solution, however.
That would mean “turning off” my firewall. That’s not an option for me.

Yes true, but as a temporary debugging step hopefully it is acceptable.

Regarding Aurora not finding updates, erroring on attempting app installs (saying “not available”) etc., I often have to “force stop” Aurora, then upon restarting it will work fine. I did have one case where even restarting the app didn’t work. In this case I had restored from a SeedVault backup and in the end I had to delete the app storage cache, then restart and Aurora worked fine after that (but needs the often “force stop” and restart issue).

I haven’t sorted out if this is a bug with iodé, with Aurora, or just the nature of using the “Anonymous” login in Aurora.

I can’t modify title nor tags after the topic is answered
