Hi,
I am happly using the Ronnz98 buikd for my S23+.
Kudos Ronnz98, I have a multi year subsciption to iodeOS and when last month I had to change my old supported Samsung A52s I was going to cry.
2 questions,
how can I “pay a coffee” to Ronnz98 ?
Is there going to be any update for the S23 family build?
Hello, again from Italy! First of all thank you very much ronnz98 for your work
I’ve just bought a second-hand S23 that unlikely have been updated to the latest version of android. So in this moment it has Android 16, and, for what I read, to install LineageOS Android 15 is needed since the update removed the OEM Unlocking option (I’ve assumed that this is also needed for iodéOS). So I was looking to downgrade, but I’ve red that to do it it’s important that the firmware version that you are going to flash has the same bootloader version of your current one, and mine has the 9th. On https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-S911B I’m not finding any Android 15 version with a security patch level of 9. Is there any possibility that I will be able to flash anything on this phone, or I have to lose any hope?
@ronnz98’s iode-7.5 build is based on AOSP 16, but that won’t do you any good, since your Galaxy S23 SM-(S911B) can no longer be modified after the major Android 16 upgrade. It has been known for months that Samsung prevents bootloader unlocking, particularly starting with Android 16 One UI 8. The most infuriating part, however, is that Samsung touts the A16 upgrade but doesn’t mention a word about the fact that even devices that were previously bootloader-unlocked can no longer be unlocked again.
