Hi, I am right now on hollidays in the west Balkan, And sadly the roaming function doesn’t work. My provider is Vodafone with an physical sim card. I’ve tried many different apn’s that are recommended by Vodafone. Nothing works.
Fairphone 5 with iodeos 7.6, maybe it’s an iodeos issue but I’m not sure??? I tried this today for the first time the roaming function. But all in all iodeos7.6 works very well!
I would be very thankfull for any advice and solution.
I was in contact with Vodafone. I’ve done all the workaraouds and nothing works. Maybe it’s an iode7.6 issue? And of course I had enough of credits!
One thing: Possibly it’s not working because of it’s an prepaid card. But not for sure. And the Vodafone support doesn’t mentioned anything to that. I ment because of prepaid. Callya now sim!
I might not have explained it properly. It’s already working on my Fairphone 5, but it’s a bit tricky at times, let’s put it that way. Here’s what you can do:
Go to Settings → Internet Settings → SIM Cards → select the SIM card there. The ‘Roaming’ switch there needs to be set to ‘On’. Have you checked that?
scroll further down to Search the APN settings. There you have to make a APN profil of your roaming provider. Not for Vodafone in Germany, the APN specified by your provider for roaming. Many you can also try the local roaming provider there – in other words, the provider that’s providing the roaming service. Manually set up a new APN profiles and manually activate the settings there.
If that still doesn’t work, it would certainly be helpful if you could provide further details about your current settings and what you’ve already tried.
Did you check in your prepaid account, if roaming is activated and approved for this country where you are? Maby check the web about this provider’s prepaid tariff on difficults in this country.
@DiTA I have to book a separate travel tariff I figured out! Sadly. But thank for your affort and that’s I take your time! Thank you
@Taurus-II thank you too. I have to book easy travel too. To get the roaming option. I only have the inside EU roaming. And this I couldn’t understood? Why not the global roaming?
So does this mean the issue is “solved” (well, confirmed to not exactly be a system bug?)
Housekeeping: I am moving this thread to our discussion based “System and Apps” instead of “Issue”. If you want to create an “Issue” please confirm the bug and then fill the template which should come up when starting a new thread in the “Issue” category.
Great you could solve it. Had to check your progress since I will be in Croatia with roaming soon. In Austria today it works as intended but I had to set a APN in the SIM settings.
