Ringtones not played thru Bluetooth

Brax3 Android 15, Iode v 6.7-20250830-brax3.

When receiving a call while using a Bluetooth headset, no ringtone is played through the headset. The phone will ring through its speaker, but not through the headset. This poses 2 major problems, first in a loud noisy environment using something like 3m work tunes, its impossible to know theres an incoming call and second, when wearing something like Shokz Openrun its impossible to know theres an incoming call without everyone hearing the ringtone (and irritating/disturbing them). This thread kinda touches on this No ring tone in hearing aids . This issue seems like it requires a change to the OS, since its not currently configurable.

Please advise if I am overlooking an easy fix.

I recently discovered that if I just check the media source and not the phone I get the ring tone in my hearing aids. I just answer and tell them to wait while I turn the hearing aid on for phone calls. It’s a pain but at least I can listen to podcasts or whatever and still hear the phone ring.

“…if I just check the media source and not the phone…“ I’m glad you have a workaround that meets your needs. I believe that this issue is significant, especially for the hearing impaired. The fix would seem trivial, and in fact its difficult for me to figure out why the ringtone through the BT device is not the default. I think it is (or was) on my ancient Pixel that no longer works.

I would like to know how to submit this as a bug for the iode developers.

You create an post here under the “Issues” category (it will the create a template). But as this thread is already here I can categorize it that way already.

Can you clarify if under your “Bluetooth Device Details” the toggles is on for “Phone calls”? Possibly changing the “audio device type” under those settings too?

Yes, and I have tried various device type settings as well. But of course I may be missing something simple. I know my wife is tired of calling me testing various options….
