Hello there,

I have read about new devices so often, are there any news? I would love to use iodé on European made smartphones like the Gigaset GS4 or GS5? Are there any plans for that? Also an iodé Tablet would be a nice thing.
Is there an estimated date for new devices, I would like to replace my Samsung A5 with something more powerful?

Best regards

Hi,
We will add one or several supported devices in November.

Regards,

A reasonably up-to-date mainstream device would be good for further distribution of IODE.
A tablet would also be important.

wie @patrick schon schrieb. Ein europäisches Gerät wäre super.

Gigaset let you not unlock bootloaderand is not supported by LOS. So no chance

Wrong! The bootloader can be unlocked quite easily, for example, like on a Google Pixel smartphone.

However, Gigaset refuses to release the stock Android firmware, which makes rooting and restoring to the original state much more difficult in the event of a case

OK thanks
But the fact remains that they are not officially supported by LOS and therefore iode has no basis. Or am I wrong about that too?

What the iodé team is capable of is shown by the device support of Galaxy A5 2017 and Xiaomi Mi 9. These devices are currently not supported by the LineageOS Android distribution.

Also /e/ by e.foundation has a custom ROM in its portfolio for the Gigaset GS290 - without source code of the LineageOS Android distribution (LOS).

Nothing is impossible.

Bonjour,

The Fairphone 3, 3+ and 4 are already fully supported. Both for purchase and for self-installation:
