Pixel Camera App

Has anyone else have any luck getting Pixel Camera working from the Aurora store? All I can seem to find, no matter what spoofing settings I try or what VPN country I connect from is version 9.8, not 10.something.

(Which of course just crashes when you try to start it)

I wonder if IodéOS 7.3 has reverted something that was fixed in 6.x.

Thanks, that worked

Which one? :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I used this one, not sure why just guessed

MGC_9.4.103_V36_ENG.

+1 for insta-crash on Panther w. Aurora version.

Ah, the alternate one.

I went back to the stock camera app, because the alternate APKs of Pixel Camera don’t have the HDR slider control, for some reason, and that was the killer feature for me.

I have been notified by the developers that the newest beta releases (from yesterday) resolve the issue for panther.

That’s great news! How long does it usually take to make its way from beta to release?

I might try the beta channel in a few days if it’ll be a while, as I need to take some interior photos later for work.

Usually “about a week if all is good”, but if you just want this one build, you can manually download and install via “Updater > 3 dots > local update”. Then you aren’t on the “beta channel” and will still only get “stable updates”.

Awesome!

Is there a direct link for the 7.4 beta? All I could find on the website was instructions for installing a beta downloader.

Thanks!

Thanks the link, now 7.4 beta installed

Beta 7.4 resolves the issue. If Pixel Camera appears as (0) in Aurora Store, export the native profile, then add com.google.android.feature.GOOGLE_EXPERIENCE to the list under the Features key. After that, import the modified profile into Aurora Store, set it as active, and restart the app

I haven’t ever looked at modifying the Aurora profile in this way, but this technique may prove beneficial for other scenarios, so thanks a lot for explaining this!

Sorry, where do you find those settings?

Oh, I found it. In Aurora Store:

Settings cog → Spoof Manager → three-dot menu → Export
Save the file, edit the file, make the suggested changes, then use the Import option in the same menu.

It didn’t fix the version (0) problem for me on 7.3, though. (I guess you meant if you’re still seeing that in 7.4)

Have you then selected the right profile and restarted Aurora store?

Ah, I did get it to work. I didn’t realize the Pixel 7 would be listed twice. The second one did it.

That didn’t solve the problem with it crashing; I still need to install the 7.4 beta update.

I might just wait a couple days and see if it gets released officially, first.

I can confirm that 7.4 has fixed the crashes

I think it is planned for early next week. If you do install the beta, you can then remove the beta updater and you will automatically be back to stable after it catches up (so for sure by the next release, v7.5)

Hi I am just new to iode oa with pixel 9 pro xl. Just clean install and aurora profile to pixel 9 pro xl. Iodeos version is 7.4 (1 april) but Google camera instantly crashes. I have enabled an option in device settings about software camera extentions. But no luck so far.. i used to have calyxos without issues. And just before iodeos i was on grapheneos also working fine.

Any help appreciates
