My BMW App on iodéOS

Hi,
I experience problems when I try to install the app My BMW (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.bmw.connected.mobile20.row&pcampaignid=web_share&hl=de&gl=AT) (the app is listed in the list of Apps compatible with iodéOS with a green point). At first Aurora showed an error when finished downloading and trying to install the app, something about error removing installation artefacts, don’t remember exactly. Subsequent attempts to install the app resulted in download errors and crashes of Aurora. What I have tried so far:

  • changed from the fake account to my Google account in Aurora
  • turning off iodé “Firewall”
  • changed Aurora installation method to “Systemeigene Installation (veraltet)”
  • restart phone
  • changed used Google Play version in Aurora (7.9.80… or 22.0.17… or the default)
  • switched from mobile network to WLAN

I’m using iodé 6.6 on a Fairphone 3.

Any ideas, what could be the problem?

The error when trying to use the Aurora fake account is: “Failed to remove .tmp extension from /data/user/0/com.aurora.store/cache/Downloads/de.bmw.connected.mobile20.row/45196/config”:

If I use my Google account in Aurora to install the app, after the download the error is “Download fehlgeschlagen” (download failed) and Aurora crashes.

For testing , I installed the app on my Sony XZ2 running iode 6.6, the installation worked fine, I can start the app, looks ok so far.

my Aurora version 4.7.4, my device is connected with an anonymous Aurora account
Try to clean storage and cache (Speicher und Cache) in Aurora

Go to Settings > Apps > Aurora, under storage try clearing data and cache.

Warning, this will delete any data, preferences and logins previously stored, but should not uninstall downloaded apps.

Then try to install again.

I remember using aurora store a while back and had a similar issue with some random app getting stuck in limbo and not installing nor downloading. Clearing data and cache resolved the issue.

@laneb & @duarte.framos Thank you for you help! I actually did delete the cache, stopped and restarted Aurora, but I did not delete data. Tried also this, but then another error about insufficient storage popped up. Freed some space and after that the installation finished successfully! So I think it was a combination of some Aurora internal problems and insufficient storage.
