Dear iodéOS Team,

Consolidating lower-priority bugs and feature requests for the FP6 here.

Physical Switch Behavior

  • Limited to silencing; sometimes fails to toggle correctly (requires multiple presses)..
  • Question: Plans to expand functionality?

Launcher Display Glitch

  • System apps (Settings, File Manager) show package names (e.g., com.android.settings) instead of friendly names in launcher.

Wi-Fi Calling Setting

  • Enabling Wi-Fi calling in settings does not reflect in status; still shows as disabled.

Screen Freeze

  • If screen stays on for extended periods (e.g., Maps while hiking), device occasionally freezes completely, requiring the user to turn off and on the screen.

Display Artifacts

  • Rare, random full-screen flashes of yellow or green; seemingly linked to brightness adjustments (not consistently reproducible).

Network Name Visibility

  • Network name remains visible in status bar even when setting to hide it is turned off.

Device: Fairphone 6
iodéOS Version: 7.3

In my opinion, these are lower priority, but they are still worth tracking for future releases and for other users who are facing similar issues.

I don’t have this three issues with my FP6 (iode 7.4):

Network Name Visibility seems to be fixed via the underlying LOS version in the 7.4 update. All other issues listed still exist in the newest version for me.

This one happens for some users when they force removed an app without using Preinstalled Apps, or maybe instead force add an app if it was removed with Preinstalled Apps, or some other variation. I don’t know the best way to clean that up, but maybe there are some clues from preinstalled apps. Maybe you can use Preinstalled Apps to delete > reboot > install again > reboot > check again?
