As explained in the other thread, the 2 are separate issues. To upgrade to iodéOS 7 you need a new version of the Updater (which is not updated without you manually downloading and installing it), and the L4M builds are offline due to rebuilding the server and re-creating the builds.
Everything is ok now with IodéOS.
Just for the record, like I said, I didn’t have any update available “with and without the update of the updater app”.
Why did it stop working? If the app complains about the unsecure app store, this can be bypassed using ADB.
ADB can’t do anything.
It’s due to google update policy, and MicroG can’t bypass this restriction.
@rik already write about this:
All builds would integrate any new upstream microG releases, but I don’t think there are any major changes here. microG and our implementation of it still does not pass “Google Play Integrity - Device Integrity”. Regarding N26 specifically, I see this issue at microG, but it hasn’t had any traction. Regardless, I think adding an update there (or looking for other Play Integrity issues there) may be a good place to inquire.
Hello, can I just update the system using adb sideload?
Yes. It should be. But I would update the Updater-App (via Sideloading). Then the Update will be a real OTA. Afterwards, you should uninstall this update in the settings (Apps > Updater > Uninstall updates).
There are banks that offer FOSS apps you just need to search them out. I use Lloydsbank here in Britain and have downloaded their FOSS banking app’s (both personal and business account versions), on to several devices without any problems.
Am I correct to assume that the supported devices that are still awaiting iode 7.0 upgrades will be released using standard OTA protocol updates? Or will they also require the adb script mod’s?
How do you install the Lloydsbank app? Can’t find it on f-droid.
F-Droid won’t list it because it has ad’s. When I say ad’s I’m talking occasional ad’s that promote their own products/services such as home/car insurance, investments, mortgages etc. Apkpure offer it for sure and maybe Apkmirror too IIRC.
All devices can be updated via OTA, whatever the version they run.
I don’t think those apps are FOSS. They may be free in terms of ‘no payment required’, but I don’t think they are Open Source. If they are, I would be interested to see the source code ![]()
You don’t need to be a client to download the .apk, I only assumed that F-droid’s no advertising policy prevented them from hosting it. Would be interesting to find out for sure but even if there were to be telemetry of some sort, at the very least by using it you’re not giving your complete financial ID and other sensitive data away FOC to schmoogle or crapple. If there is anything sinister you can be fairly sure that it won’t be being shared outside their organisation as unlike big tech’ outfits banks are strictly regulated, particularly so regarding the confidentiality of their clients personal data.
Hi I’m at Iode6.9 on Brax3, saw and tried the updater update, didn’t receive 7.0 as was roaming in France. now on WiFi, 7.1 shows available but when I try download just shows 0% download failed, check Internet (rebooted router and phone) try again later…forever
Any thoughts greatfully appreciated
Did you follow the instructions regarding the updater (message in iodé news app from Dec 07,2025)?
EDIT: Latest stable version should be 7.2
Yes but today
When I do a copy url to browser it shows tge brax specific ota zip file doesn’t exist https://gitlab.iode.tech/ota/release/-/raw/master/brax3/iode-7.1-20251225-brax3-ota.zip
Please mark as resolved, I managed to download 7.1 from the Brax site and local install successfully
This is not possible, since you did not open your own thread, but added to an existing topic.
Glad you got the latest version installed!
