I found AI integrated within my BraX3 phone running iodeOS

I recently bought two BraX3 phones now running version 7.3-20260304-brax3 and to my horror I found in Settings, Notification summaries that Summaries use AI.

I am 100% against ANYTHING AI and chose CalyxOS and iode for my family phones to separate us from advertisements, Google and AI.

AI was not mentioned anywhere before I purchased and I didn’t have the opportunity to not install that option like I had for some apps, I also searched the iode website for anything AI but there is no reference.

Before I contact Rob Braxman for a refund for both phones I would like to ask one question, Could AI be totally removed from the OS in a future update?

It certainly can be: most of the OS is open source, and the stuff that is not (i.e. the vendor provided binary blobs) is listed in the code, usually in a file called proprietary-files.txt. So it would clearly be possible to make a build without the AI code. Whether anyone can be bothered, given that - once the promised change has been made (if it hasnlt already been) - the AI feature is off by default, is anothe rquestion entirely. But nothing stopping you from doing it yourself.

But in your other post you said

That is much harder to do when you are running Android, which is of course a Google product. Your bets bet is to install a LInux-based OS (SailfishOS, POstmarketOS) and live with the limitations of those non-Google OSs. Good luck!
