I disabled the notifications of the iode app, however, every time I reboot my phone, I get a notification from the iode app with “widget service” in its title, but the notification is empty otherwise.
I tried resettings the iode app’s data (as suggested in Making sure you're not a bot!), but it did not help. The notification still appears on reboot.
Is there a way to disable this notification or is this, as suggested in the issues, a bug?
Difference to the linked issue: This is not happening on opening the app, but on rebooting the phone. The notification does not appear when I quit the app (or even force-stop it) and then reopen it.
If’ve a fp5, too. iodé blocker runs in shelter and mainprofil. Every time I open the blocker the widget of the mainprofil is reported. And also at restart of the phone. Don’t understand why the bugreport is closed.
To the issue, @ichich or @DiTA can you check that inside the iodé app > Settings > Notifications > Display Notification" is disabled? This is the way to stop the notification, not from “App Info > Notifications”.
I’ve of course checked the settings. Unfortunately, to no avail.
The problem has been going on for over half a year and nothing’s happened. If Iodé doesn’t use GitHub, I wonder why you opened the ticket there. In any case, the problem is real.
Sorry I mis-viewed the issue link, so all the talk about gitlab.com is of course just me making a lot of confusion.
To the issue, it was closed as noted because it couldn’t be reproduced. I am also not able to reproduce: disabling the notification in the iodé app settings and then rebooting does not show this empty “widget” notification as I seem to have reported with iodéOS 7.1 previously.
I’ll re-open and link this thread. Maybe it is a FP5 specific issue.
@rik have you also placed the iodé widget? I’m also getting this empty notification on my Pixel 5 running iodéOS 7.8, but I thought it was a notification required for the widget to run in the background. When the widget is removed, the notification disappears.
Hi everyone, yes, that’s exactly how it is. I’m not using a widget; everything’s disabled, and yet this notification keeps popping up as soon as I start my phone or open the iodé Blocker. After that, I have to close the notification manually until the next time I open the iodé Blocker.
