Does upgrading Pixel 9 to Android 16 require full wipe

Hello,

I currently run Android 15 on my Pixel 9, it seems that the updater cannot do the next upgrades and I will need to do it manually.

Does doing this force a full system wipe or can I preserve my data and installed apps somehow?

See here if it is an upgrade from iodé 6 to iodé 7:

Versions above 6.9 do not require the 6 to 7 updater.
