I have noticed that charge control has disappered in a recent update (6.4) from my pixel 8, I had it set to charge depending on my alarms. Before IodéOS 6, I believe that I had charge control set to a specific procentage but that feature disappered when I updated my phone to IodéOS 6. Has it something to do with Android 15 for the pixel 8? I run lineageOS 22.2 on my oneplus 6T and it still has charge control.
I have done a clean reflash on my pixel 8 with IodéOS 6.5 to rule out that something went wrong during one up the updates but still missing the feature. Charge control was nice way of ensuring that I woke up with a charged phone at 80-90% while avoiding 100%.
Has anybody noticed the same thing with their phones? I have also noticed that there is no possability to limit app time anymore, I used it with IodéOS 5 (5.8) to avoid doom scrolling.
On my Pixel 6a with iodé 6.5 installed it disappeared too.
Wondering if it is possible to get the features (esp. charge control) back as it was really useful for me too.
Vincent confirmed that charge control has been removed from LineageOS for Pixel phones. He wasn’t certain as to this original issue, so it may take a bit of lurking on their issue tracker or reddit to understand the reason it was removed.
The same issue also exists with the Pixel 7 (I own one). And it sucks. Wish I could downgrade to an older iodeOS version (v6.3), where I still had this option.
But no. It’s impossible as older iode builds aren’t available for downloads at all. Thus, I’m stuck with this mess.
It seems like pixel is not having a good time with latest updates. Noticed that I didnt recieve any updates anymore, system updater disappeared with 6.4 or 6.5. Just updated manually to 6.6, still not there.
This is great to see, I can confirm that charge control is indeed available again for a Pixel 7 Pro (with v6.8 beta). Am assuming the Lineage devs sorted the issue, all credit to them I believe!
