Hello,
I have a Fairphone 5 with iodé.
Since the last update of Cembra money bank app, the app show an error message and cannot open: “Device blocked: for security reason this application is not available on this phone.”
Until now, I could receive an SMS to confirm a payment, but Cembra will soon stop this possibility to use exclusively their app for notifications.
Is there a way to deal with it or should I change my credit card provider, which would be annoying?
Thank you for your advice
I am faceing the same problem with my FP4 (Fairphone 4).
Any suggestions what can be done about this?
As @bermike1 mentioned: it worked before, but now not anymore.
Note: The Cembra app was also before quiet “security aware”: On my old Xiaomi Mi9T (with Xiaomi’s stock OS), the app did not work when USB-Debuging was switched on (with I sometime set on because I need it for my job for doing some testing).
Same here. This is an issue of the app, not of the OS.
Please let Cembra know about the issue. If we are enough people complaining, maybe they will fix it.
I did not yet find an online way to contact them, so I think you need to call them by phone.
Btw.: The Cembra app is listed in the apps list as non-functional:
For the past ~6 weeks, due to Google changes, microG was not passing “Google SafetyNet”, used by many apps to verify you haven’t been hacked.
As of last week, there is an iodé beta release that restores “SafetyNet”. In your case, if you don’t want to mess with the beta channel that would restore SafetyNet integrity, I believe the next update to iodé with this fix will not be too far in the future, so you could wait for that and then retry.
But note that Google has newer and harder-to-spoof device integrity certification method beyond SafetyNet, called “Play Integrity”. iodé did pass the higher level of “Play Integrity” for a few months earlier this year, but with various new limitations it is now back to only passing the “basic” level of Play Integrity.
