Cannot unlock Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e

Hi folks,

this morning I wanted to switch on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e (WiFi only) and when I wanted to enter the pattern to unlock it, I got the error message, that the entered pattern was wrong. Funfact: it’s definitely not, but the OS (Iodé 6.15) EDIT: Iodé 6.16! claims to know better …

Background: last weekend I had to reregister myself to my healthcare insurance app. The insurance company said, they changed some stuff to make the app better, safer, more convenient, yada yada yada …

The problem was: the app recognized, that my tablet was not secured by a PIN code, password or pattern and refused to let me do what was requested. I personally see no need to use any of that, as I don’t use it outside my home. Anyway, I went with the pattern, all good …

This morning the described problem showed up, I’m locked out of my tablet. So here’s the question: does anybody know a way how I can kinda overrule the system to log-in again and then change the settings?

Thanks in advance, M.

When you have USB-Debugging on AND a trusted computer maybe with adb?
Never tried, i don’t know about side effects …

adb devices
adb shell
locksettings clear

Hi Volker, thanks for your suggestion, but it did not work. Did a factory reset, lost all data & settings, but now I’m back in the game.

EDIT: Now that my system is roughly back to its state before the reset I unfortunately I became a happy (not) member oft the group of users, that cannot log-in into the Duolingo app, hooray … like the other users (@kestrelfeather, @anon73588713) say, the error message says, either username or password is wrong. It’s not …

Out oft couriosity I installed Duolingo on my phone, a Samsung Galaxy S4 mini (GT-I 9195). It took a while but it worked. Then I tried to log-in and here I succeded! The phone is running DivestOS/Android 11. Unfortunately the phone is too weak to use the app on a regular base. It’s got only 1,5 GB RAM, you need a lot oft patience …

So, imo either Iodé or Lineage messed something up while updating their software since the days oft (at least) Android 11.
