I created this account since I am thinking about switching from Evolution X 11.4.2 to iodéOS. But I have a really big problem: there are no 7.x builds for my device… anywhere. The latest build was on Christmas with version number 6.11.
So, is anyone interested in building for the Pixel again, or am I stuck on my unofficial Evo X build from last year?
LineageOS ported the Pixel 4 series to Android 16, and the current beta build of iodéOS (7.2) has integrated this. Updated my Pixel 4a to this build as well, it lives on!
If you want to update your running iodéOS system (not flashing anew), then you can use the updater app.
a) Updater for beta: beta · master · ota / ota · GitLab
b) Updater for getting from version 6.X stable to version 7.X stable: Go to your iodé news app and follow the instructions from message Dec 07.
EDIT: Sorry, only realized now that you want to change from an unofficial to an official build.
That is different. @rik can hopefully help with this!
EDIT 2: Please always run a backup before attempting to update …
Sorry I lost a good amount of time the past few weeks to an extended sickness, but am finally healthy again and getting caught up (after claiming a few weeks back to finally getting caught up following the Christmas / New Year holidays ).
Anyway, @xseagdc I think all is good now but to answer the question: If you are on an unofficial iodéOS build (from me or others) and want to move to the official iodéOS build, it would need a full re-install. I gave this some rounds of testing over the holidays to confirm.
Thanks for the info, but yeah, it was an unofficial build of a different custom ROM, not necessarily an unofficial build of iodé. So I had to reset my phone nonetheless. I am on the beta right now and am looking forward to experiencing Material 3 Expressive again.
Good to have you back! I had hoped your absence had not been for health reasons, but because your side hustle escalated and all the new customers took your time
