Hi folks,
I am in the market for a new mid range phone that will run iodé.
Most of the supported models listed are older and aren’t readily available in my region (Southeast Asia).
Is it worth me taking a gamble on purchasing something like the Xiaomi Redmi note 14 and trying to install the GSI? What would be the chances of success?
Would it be better to find a supported model and try to by a second hand phone from overseas?
Many thanks,
People use “mid-range” to mean vastly different things.
Best to buy an officially supported device, it will save you lots of headaches, since everything else can be very hit and miss. I’d recommend looking for one that is on iodéos 6. You’ll find their specs at shop.iode.tech. It just depends which second hand devices are available in your area.
Thanks! Will do.
I bought a used pixel 6a around 90€. Do not know how much $ it is, maybe 100$. It was very cheap and support is great. Even vanilla Google is supported until 2027. I recommend a used Pixel or used Fairphone. Used Pixel phones you will get very cheap. At least in Europe. Fairphone cost a bit more.
Thanks for the input. I just ordered a used Pixel 8 pro from overseas. It should be here in a week or two. Wish me luck.
