Which Comaps to use - F-Droid repo or Iodé repo?

I do have Comaps installed twice on my iodé smartphone - once from the official f-droid repo and since last year also from the iodé repo.

Are there any recommendations which one to use/keep. I can’t see any differences between them…

We don’t make any modifications to CoMaps, but we did change over to it being the default map application so added it to our repository. You can remove the upstream F-Droid version, or remove the iodé version from “Settings > Apps > Preinstalled Apps” - your choice!

  1. May I ask why you bother doing this?
  2. Is it the case that the versions in both repos are identical and signed with the same keys?

@vince31fr is best to comment, I don’t know the reason

We indeed distribute the apk from the CoMaps git repository, and not the one from the official f-droid repository. This permits us to deliver it faster : updates to the official f-droid when sources are updated can take up 1 or 2 weeks.
