This was only included recently in the case you want to check that iodés private key used to build the image matches our published public key: this would ensure that the download wasn’t possibly tampered with and then replaced on our gitlab instance where it is hosted. You can see how to use the public key to verify the build as part of the “advanced” section of our installation documentation.
