Wero setup in ING DiBa App aborts

I am using the app of ING DiBa. When I am trying to register for Wero in the app, the process aborts after selecting the account for Wero. Instead of asking for the phone number, the app shows the main overview or sometimes aborts.

On a stock iPhone this process works flawlessly. The support of ING DiBa could not help me. Does anybody else have an idea what the reason may be?

I am using a OnePlus 9 with iodéOS 7.6.

Wero does not support “Custom ROMs”, according to their FAQs

Besides this, I assume they check for an open bootloader, which you unfortunately cannot change anyway with your OnePlus…

I see on Plexus that Wero version 1.0.35 gets a “Gold” rating for /e/OS? This would be identical to iodéOS in that it uses microG. Can you manually try that version? (may need to navigate the cruft of APK Mirror or other to find the correct download?)

To be able to use Wero, I have to use the app “ING Deutschland”, because Wero is integrated here. However, here I get the result described above.

I think how you describe its integration is how my CapitalOne bank app has Zelle integrated directly (both less good versions of what you have available :slight_smile: )

Are you able to install Wero as a standalone app? Maybe not since then you may not have a login or standalone Wero account?

I installed the Wero app. When running it, I had to choose the bank, so I selected ING DiBa. Then, the Wero app said that I have to use the ING DiBa app and offered me open it. I’m the following, I ended up in the same process which does not work :face_with_diagonal_mouth:.

I can confirm, that wero does work on iodé with the app from the GLS Bank. Maybe it’s a problem in the ING-App.

Je suis en France à la banque populaire. wero est intégré à l’application. Et tout fonctionne très bien.

Maybe it’s just some redirecting issue with ING app. You can try to allow open links in the app settings. That sometimes resolves login-redirect issues.

Many thanks for this proposal @vanMacG . I already allowed all proposed links to be opened with the app – without success.

WFM: iodé 7.7 on Shiftphone 8 with ING app. Activated WERO inside of the ING app.

This is good news for Shift Customers. But here the bootloader can be closed - this make it easier for the spoofing mechanisms. But in the OnePlus michix is using, the bootloader must not be closed - and this causes the problems…:cry:

As I understand, microG reports back a “locked bootloader” regardless of whether or not it is actually locked.

It works with the current version of the App of ING DiBa!
