Hi rik,
I’m new here and am thinking of jumping ship from another de-Googled operating system to iodéOS. I have a Pixel Tablet and was under the assumption that /e/OS would be my only option (other than the current OS I have on it). Is there a Pixel Tablet web installer for iodéOS, or would I need to use a CLI-based installation method? I’m a Linux user on desktop and lapto, but I’m still a bit nervous when it comes to performing intricate tasks in the Terminal, so a dedicated and automated web installer for iodéOS on the tablet would be fantastic.
Thank you!

Sorry but only “official builds” are integrated in the graphical installer. To install my unofficial Pixel build you will need to use fastboot and adb sideload from a terminal.

@jazz-linux-sino-geek I moved the posts on installing an unofficial Pixel build to that thread. We can follow up there!

Hi! Two days ago I installed iodéOS 6.9 on my Pixel 4a (I think support was just added recently? Could swear I checked like two months ago and it wasn’t officially supported) and as I was pretty convinced quickly, I committed to installing it on my main Phone, a Pixel 8, as well. The install process on Linux was very smooth and well described. Looking forward to be here, help out where I can and be helped. Oh, and I already recognized a few people I know from other custom Android communities. Good to see you here!

Is it possible to give us the ability to add and change the fonts? I would like to be able to add some new and personal fonts that I am using on my old phones.

I am not happy with Noto sans and Roboto.

Can I just add some OTF or TTF files in /system/fonts? I have noticed that I have no empty space on my root directory.

I did a bit of searching on “LineageOS change fonts”, and sorry it isn’t easily changed. In all Android variants the system is read-only, and there doesn’t seem to be a way to have userdata level font changes. Meaning that the way people have changed fonts it is root the device then change the fonts, which sometimes leave the system unbootable :frowning: .

This is exactly what I have read.

It is something that bothers me although.

I am used to chnage fonts years before since Symbian OS

Yes, understood. I think the place to look to open a feature request would be at the LineageOS level if it is to something added on top of stock AOSP.

By the way, you could play around with installing a different Launcher, I can’t recall but possibly they support alternate fonts at least for the home screen. But they won’t affect app fonts themselves (I think).

Hello everyone!

New to iodeOS, i am currently playing around with my older Pixel 3a and a Pixel 8a. If this pans out, i will also switch my main device, Pixel 9 Pro. I already have experience with Custom ROMs, but not as daily driver on my main device. But so far it’s looking good.

Good to have you!

@Bongripper IodéOS phone could easily be your main driver, if you do not need to use it as a device for payments. Obviously GPay will not work (thanks God for that). But Revolut Pay, directly from the app, could be working. I still have to try it my self. Welcome to the degoogleland.

Curve Pay works well for me on LineageOS for microG, so it should also work fine on iodéOS

@petefoth I don’t known. According to multiple reviews on Play Store, lots of users are super unhappy with the almost nonexistent support and plethora of hidden fees. Just go to the review section and check it yourself. And most of the negative reviews are very recent. So who knows where the truth is…
