we are travelling in France and we are looking for a privacy friendly voice translator app. German / French with speech recognition would be optimal for now.
Do you have any recommendation?

I use the DeepL app for Italian ↔ German translations and for translations to and from English, but I don’t have any experience for translations to or from French.
Thank you for the feedback. I like deepl so far, but in the app I can only translate text, no voice.
I have come to the following ad interim solution:
Install google voice recognition and synthesis, then install all language translator from Aurora store.
This is by far not a privacy friendly approach, but at least you don’t need to register anywhere and you can translate spoken conversations.
When you click on the microphone icon at the bottom right, you can record voices and let DeepL translate it. You can also take a picture and let DeepL translate the recognized text.
I used the inofficial app from Fdroid, there is no mic button. Thanks for the hint, in the app from aurora I can see the mic.
