I installed iodeOS 6.7 on a Pixel 4a5g using @rik’s unofficial build. It’s working great! As a matter of routine maintenance I am attempting to update the system. The updater app says:
iodeOS 6.7
Android 15
September 9, 2025
Last checked: December 31, 1969 (6:00 PM)
No new updates found. To manually check for updates, use the Refresh button.
1969 was a good year I hear, but I don’t think iodeOS was around then.
When I tap the Refresh button I see:
The update check failed. Please check your internet connection and try again later.
My News app says that udpates were available in my Updater on Dec 25, 2025 and Nov 5, 2025.
The current unofficial build for Pixel 4a5g is iode 7.1
The unofficial builds page says:
If you are using one of @rik’s builds, then OTA updates were set up in January 2025, so all updates should be able to be downloaded and installed directly from the Updater app.
Based on everything I’m reading, there should be an update or two available through my Updater app. Please advise.
Interestingly, this Pixel4a5g did not get that news.
My Pixel7a did get that news and I was able to update the updater. I think you are onto something here.
Well then it might not be applicable for your inofficial build. Let’s wait for Rik
EDIT: The Pixel 4 probably can’t have Android 16, so the updater’s update (for version 6 to 7) might actually not be a thing. Your Pixel 7a can handle version 7.x, so that helped there.
Thanks for reporting back, I hope, your documentation will help others.
Would you please tick the “solution” button, so the thread can be marked as solved? Thank you.
EDIT: Sorry, you already did that, I overlooked it somehow.
