Update iodeos 6.6 -> 7.6 de/en

Hallo zusammen,

ich habe hier ein xiaomi mi 10t (pro wahrscheinlich) / apollon. Dieses läuft noch auf iodeos 6.6 und sollte nun auf 7.6 aktualisiert werden. Leider schaffe ich das nicht per adb sideload, auch ein update der updater.apk funktioniert nicht (mehr?). Unklar bin ich mir in jedem fall, ob es ggf. zwischenschritte bräuchte. Da im git aber nur 7.5 und 7.6 zu finden sind, stünde ich auch da im regen.
Sideload scheitert mit Meldung auf dem smartphone wie: “failed to mount /cache” “failed to set up expected mounts for install” und dann eine ganze reihe folgefehler.

Irgendwelche tipps?

Hi everyone, I have a Xiaomi Mi 10T (probably the Pro) / Apollon here. It’s still running on Iodeos 6.6 and needs to be updated to 7.6. Unfortunately, I can’t do this via ADB sideload, and updating the updater.apk doesn’t work (anymore?). In any case, I’m not sure if there might be any intermediate steps required. But since only 7.5 and 7.6 are available on Git, I’m kind of stuck. Sideloading fails with messages on the smartphone such as: “failed to mount /cache,” “failed to set up expected mounts for install,” and then a whole series of follow-up errors.

Any tips?

die Liste der offiziell unterstützten Geräte sagt, apollon ist immer noch auf Android 15 (iodé 6.x).

Hast Du in der iodé news app etwas über ein Update gelesen? Wenn dort nichts über 7.x steht, dann geht es nicht.

EDIT: Hab aber ein OTA dazu gefunden … Hast Du das benutzt?

The list of officially supported devices says that apollon still is on Android 15 (iodé 6.x).

Did you get info in your news app about an update? If not, then it is not possible.

EDIT: Found an OTA for it … Did you use this?

UPDATE: I did get confirmation from our lead developer that there are not any partition changes that would require a factory reset or clean re-install.

To get the Updater to show a v7.x upgrade, you need to apply an update to the Updater, as noted in my standard guidance:

To upgrade to version 7, you need to first install an update to the “Updater app” itself, as described in our iodé 7 release announcement: iodéOS 7 is Now Officially Available! - iodé So follow the link there to install the “v6-to-v7.apk” and then when you re-launch the “Updater app” you should find the most recent version 7 available to install.

The reason this one-time manual process is needed is due to LineageOS (our upstream source) making a change that disabled major version upgrades by default (like going from version 6 to version 7).

Alternatively, you should be able to apply the upgrade locally with the Updater app by choosing “top right 3 dots > Local update”
