Update application I don't use

Aurora proposes updating an app that I don’t use. Bancontact Pay. How is that possible. It’s a banking app. I’m suspicious

Surely if it is offering to update it then it is installed?

I understand what happened
Payconic, an app I use from time to time to pay stopped.
The app has changed its name and icon ans is now called “Bancontact Pay”

But I didn’t hear about it until a few days laterIn the meantime, I found a “squatter” in the list of apps and deleted it.

It’s not normal for a payment app to change its name and publisher without any notification.

Well, the app’s name was “Payconiq by Bancontact” for at least several years. And now it is named “Bancontact Pay” …

Only one should not be surprised by the success of all other scams if one gets used to these strange behaviors.
