Unofficial buld for Sony Xperia 5 II pdx206

Unofficial build for Sony Xperia 5 II pdx206

In response to a request in another thread, I have made a build of IodéOS 5.1 for this device.

It’s available from sourceforge

I do not own one of these devices so…

THIS BUILD HAS NOT BEEN TESTED AT ALL - USE IT ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK!

It should be possible to install the build by following the instructions for installing LineageOS
https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/pdx206/install

Note the section Ensuring all firmware partitions are consistent , which only need to be done once per device.

There have been zero downloads of this file from SourceForge so, if no-one wants to use the build, I will be removing from SourceForge in the next couple of weeks, as they are hassling me about using too much space.

I’ve got a bid in on an Xp’ 5 ii on ebay at the mo’ so will download a copy just in case. Tx for the heads up.

@petefoth just noticed that the post was 6 months ago but had already downloaded it anyway. Keep us posted if they hustle to take some more down and I might just put them on to my OS archive disk anyway. Not sure as to where this project is taking me too as I keep buying phones but people keep buying them in the schmoogle form despite me offering the demonstrator and a free iode install at no extra cost.

I’ve rearranged the sourceforge project. The latest IodéOS build is available from here
iode-5.5-20240916-pdx206.zip

I’ll blow the old build away (though sourceforge haven;t been hassling me again)

Posted on wrong thread! Sorry

XDA [ROM][15][pdx206][OFFICIAL] Yet Another AOSP Project (YAAP) [AOSP][STABLE]
Re-locking bootloader (avb_custom_key) is supported
with the known disadvantages and advantages.

The latest build of IodéOS (v6.2) is available here. Bootloader re-locking is not possible with this build (and it really isn’t necessary - or even desirable  )

GrapheneOS develops and builds the most secure Android Custom ROMs - exclusively with relocked bootloader.

CalyxOS develops and builds Android Custom ROMs - exclusively with relocked bootloader.

DivestOS built a large number of its custom ROMs with relocked bootloader.

If, as with YAAP CustomROMs, the user has the choice between installing a ROM with or without a relocked bootloader, so much the better. My decision is, whenever possible, always in favor of the relocked bootloader.

So my Sony Xperia 5 II and Sony Xperia 1 II are now running with OFFICIAL YAAP build-in microG (A15) and relocked bootloader.

I would like to see both Sony Xperia included in the iodéOS portfolio with official iodéOS 6.x relocked bootloader version.

Good luck. It won’t be happening with unofficial builds, like this one for pdx206.

Every man is the architect of his own fortune.
