I’m running beta thunderbird (as well as k9) on android and it’s going fine so far.

Me too. I’ve been using it for a while with no problems. K-9 is still on my devices, but mostly for comparison in case I do spot an issue with Tb4A
seems like Mozilla is collecting telemetry data unless you manually opt out:
In the meanwhile they released beta 2 and removed telemetry.
