Who knows who knows the difference between Open Camera and the Iode version of it?
the reason why the team decided to choose Aperture (and the differences between those apps) at some point would be interesting to know then as well!
The iodeOS version appears to be last updated two years ago. Main app on the other hand appears to have received two updates in 2026. Here is the change log link:
@MaxO OpenCamera will be removed from our repo soon. The only reason it remained, as I understand, was that old iodéOS 2.x devices had it installed back when it was default and if we would have removed it would have broken things for them. But as noted it hasn’t been built or updated in multiple years. Please use upstream OpenCamera if you would like to try it. I think Vincent noting it can be removed means that Aperture must be able to be included now in the builds for the 2.x series devices.
