Sony XA2 latest update forced factory reset

The latest update failed on install and offered me two options ‘Try Again’ or ‘Factory Reset’. Tried again but to no avail so ended up taking the Factory Reset option. Wasn’t a lot of data on it almost all of it I still have saved from the original install.

If your using XA2 it might pay to wait for the team to investigate and give you all the heads up before installing the latest release.

5.6 is loaded and appears to be running however, I am unable to download anything (no internet connection), despite network settings confirming that the phone is connected to the wi-fi hub. Might just re-flash 5.4 as it was very stable up until this last update.

The reason for the lack of wifi connection appears to be ‘IP address configuration failure’. Have checked the connectivity on my SOS XA2 and all is well.

… but then again it might not have anything to do with wi-fi problem as I’ve just tried to connect an XZ3 to my wi-fi (G Android), and that has same IP address fault too.

It would appear that only phones that have been connected previously will connect to the 4g network. So with the wifi connection problem identified as nothing to do with the update but everything to do with the factory reset, I’ve managed to reload all the apps I regularly use via the 5g network we have down stairs and the spec’ now is pretty much back to where it was prior to this month’s update. Everything appears to be working with 5.6 as it should but I will need to give it at least a couple of days usage to be sure.

Bug report for 5.6 Sony XA2… Newpipe works ok but no sound.

No Problems with Version 5.6 and XA2

I have been unable to find a fix so it’s back to 5.5 for now at least. :face_exhaling:

The SOS XA2 has been reinstated as the daily driver for now whilst I try to get to the bottom of the no sound (video only), problem. So having already done a backup of the updated 5.6, I decided to do a clean flash of the latest iode 5.6 from Github. Decided to use the installer for the flash process so as to minimise any possible interference with the outcome and because I’m getting lazy these days I have to admit. Everything works fine except there is still no sound from the video player. Bellini’s post now has me baffled as I was hoping that it might have been some OTA glitch, but now I am sure that it is a bug inherent within 5.6 although I haven’t a clue as to how Bellini’s XA2 managed to circumvent the issue.

Is there an official portal on here for bug reporting or do i need to go to Github?
