Are the Sony xz compact models included in the installation, or they will be supported in the future?

No they are not. We may add suported devices by the end of this year but don’t know which models yet.

Hey there, I need a new phone since my s10e with iode got stolen. I wasn’t that satisfied with the s10e so I’d like to try another small device. Can someone tell me if iode is also running on the z2 compact? The Z2 is supported and both share the same SoC, but as far as I know it doesn’t necessarily mean they can run the same ROM.

Did Sony make a “z2 compact?” I’m not aware of it. It would probably be lacking some important 4G frequency bands, like the Z2.

Do you mean XZ2 Compact? IodéOS is built for XZ2 (akari) but not XZ2 compact (xz2). LineageOS and LineageOS for microG both support XZ2 Compact, so

  • it should be straightforward to make an unofficial build of IodéOS. I’ll do that next time I’m building for Sony devices, probably towards the end of the month;
  • you can use LineageOS for microG until an IodéOS build is available

Oh I’m sorry that I’ve forgotten the ‘X’. For sure I’ve meant XZ2 Compact.
Unfortunately they are a bit pricey regarding the age they have so I think I’ll go with a Pixel for only a bit more.

It’s curious that iodé doesn’t build for XZ2c though it’s official from Lineage. Do you happen to know what the reason is?

No, I don’t know what criteria Iodé used when deciding which devices to support. LineageOS has official support for more than 200 devices. Iodé clearly don’t have the resources to make official builds for all of them :slight_smile:
