Just dropped in to the Sony developer world site only to find that they are closing it down.
Can only hope that they continue to support open access to their devices.

What is the implication? Is this needed in order to unlock a device?
That’s currently located here, but presumably it would move to a dedicated site, based on the notice. Hopefully, anyway!
EMMA is still working it would appear. Just tried it with a couple of unlocked BL phones without running it. They were both recognised along with the recommended firmware to put them back to stock Android. Likewise the bootloader unlock page is still operational as I successfully unlocked a 10 v with it.
They are not closing it, they are moving it to a different domain. As that announcement says:
AOSP on Xperia Open Devices website will be migrated to a new domain under Sony Corporation (SEC) on May 10, 2026. The new website URL will be announced at a later date. Please stay tuned for further updates.
The ‘Unlock bootloader’ pages are still where they always were and still seem to be functional.
So let’s not get all paranoid
