Signal not working on the mobile network with FP5

I have just raised an issue with Signal, but I thought I may ask here too as perhaps this is OS specific and I may have missed something obvious.

For about a month now Signal is not working for me when on a mobile network. The connection to the server times out. This is specific to Signal and other apps using the Internet are all working fine. I was travelling in the last month so I have been reviewing some roaming options, but I verified with a friend who uses iodéOS that we have exactly the same network options, permissions and app settings and his Signal is working just fine.

Has anyone experience anything similar? Please let me know.

Might be an Android 15 thing.

Goto settings > apps > Signal > Data Usage

Make sure that it is allowed to use mobile networks

I will attach a screenshot later to confirm, but unfortunately this looks fine. Almost every slider in the menu is active and certainly the one with mobile network.

On other news, Top contributor to Signal app seem confused as to the possible reason why their server is not accessible from iodeOS/FP5.

Just to be clear its not an Iode/FP5 problem since I am running the same thing and it works 100% fine for me (Signal on mobile network). It must be a setting somewhere or something got corrupt

Working as expected for me on FP5 Iodé 5.8, Signal 7.31.1.
Some Ideas:

  • Perform a Signal-Backup, complete reinstall of Signal and restore.
  • Update to Iodé 6

Have you tried Molly?

Thanks, @roteiro, I don’t know why I haven’t tried that before. Backup and restore was actually very easy and now it all works so something must have got corrupted.
