Shiftphone 8.1 can not import E-Sim

Currently facing the Issue that i can not add an E-Sim to my Shiftphone with Iode 7.6-20260610-otter.
OpenEUICC was not installed, so i installed it but when accessing it, it directly closes.
The Setting for Sim-Cards is also greyed out.
Dialing ‘*#06#’ also only shows my IMEI and no other informations.

Anybody else has this issue?

I think i can anwser this one myself…

There is a little Eco-Esim in the box that the smartphones comes in. This one has to be inserted!
After that E-Sim setup was possible.

Yes, this is indeed somewhat unususal, even for modular built phones. Never seen this feauture anywhere else. But it gives you even more customization freedom so that you can decide whether you want 2 physical SIM slots or 1 physical and 1 eSIM.

With Iodé 7.7, OpenEUICC was replaced by the Google app “SIM-Toolkit” – does anyone knows what’s the reason for this?

Maybe also the ecoSIM?
