Shift 8 LineageOS status

This post mentions the ‘LineageOS status’ of this device, and links to the GitHub repi for the device tree. I’ve looked at TheMuppets repos, and that seems to have the necessary vendor binary blobs. But looking at the LineageOS devices page, there is no official LineageOS support for the device.

Clearly the LineageOS code works, as it is presumably what iodé use for their builds. Do why is there no official LineageOS build?

The LineageOS code in the repo is officially, mainly developed by Shift staff but also from the main LineageOS developers. As the SHIFTphone don’t support fingerprint on unlocked devices, it can’t be made official.
