I’ve had the notifications from iode running for 3 hours now and they don’t even show up on battery usage.
then it’s really just the blocker’s UI… I didn’t have it open after charging and rebooting
Thanks for the follow-up, it’s more in line with the expected behavior
Performance for critical parts of the blocker (system part and notification) is a key aspect in our developments.
I can confirm that the battery life on my S10e was getting worse and worse.
I still had several problems, e.g. with all apps that require address resolution.
I did two things:
- Wiped the cache partition.
- With the App “Cache-Cleaner” from the FDroid Store I deleted the caches of all user-apps.
Since I did both at the same time, I can no longer say whether both were necessary.
After deleting, my battery life increased by at least 50%,
also are the problems with the address resolution disappeared.
MagicEarth no longer hangs, etc …
Deleting the cache partition on Samsung S10:
go into recovery-mode:
Recovery – Factory Reset – Delete Cache.
Please note: ONLY delete the cache partition - nothing else!
Does delete the Cache Partition reset the smartphone? I have some battery issues since last OS update. The OS itself uses 10-12% of battery and even overnight not touching the phone it looses about 10-15% of battery. This was much better before 4.2.
Deleting cache does not wipe user data. You should also delete apps cache (cache cleaner is a good hint), and monitor a bit your apps. A culprit one is enough to deplete battery.
What you can also do for testing is to change the user profile.
Create a new user,
do not install any apps there,
and see if the battery life changes.
If I interpret it correctly,
then the apps of the main user are not active.
