"Screen sharing detected!" Warning // Screenshots possible, although not permitted

Hello everyone,

I had to reinstall my phone due to a repair and used Seedvault Backup then. Since the reinstallation, I’ve been having issues with some apps that block screenshots. Bevor reinstall I had iode 7.2, after 7.3.

One banking app was working after restoring the Seedvault backup; I was able to log in. Immediately afterwards, the app froze with the Android message ‘Screen sharing detected!’. I checked the permissions, but that wasn’t the issue. However, it now works after setting up the app again.

But I can’t get the “DAB-SecurePlus” app to work. You can reproduce thess following steps:

  1. Open the app
  2. Tap “Next”
  3. Grant permission for notifications
  4. Select “Activate manually”
  5. Tap in the text field
  6. “Screen sharing detected!” appears.
  7. App is frozen

The app still worked during the previous installation with iodeOS 6.9 to 7.2, but no longer works with the new setup on 7.3.

The ‘Keepass2Android’ app is configured to prevent screenshots (in the app: Settings → Application → Display → Protect database view → enabled), but it’s still possible!

On a Samsung A55 running Samsung’s Android, this is not possible.

With another app that prevents screenshots, you can still see the screen in the app switcher, but at least taking a screenshot is not permitted. On the Samsung, the screen is also blacked out in the app switcher.

I have checked the developer options; ‘Disable screen capture protection’ is not enabled there.

Is that a bug, or have I set something up wrong?

Sometimes it’s exactly the other way round: screenshots are blocked in all apps, with a message stating that the app or my organisation has disabled screenshots. After restarting the phone, everything works fine again and you can take screenshots.
As a device administrator, the apps ‘Shelter’ and ‘FMD’ (Find My Device) are set up, in case that might have something to do with it…

I will be traveling through the coming week, so I have this “bookmarked” to test more when I get back. In the meantime, any others able to test this out?
