SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab S5e SM-T720 installation guide step by step

Hi,

im completely new to iode and I am a bit lost.

Where can I find a step by step installation guide for dummies ?

Which files do I need? Where can I download them.

I can use either a windows computer or a linux kubuntu system.

Thanks you very much for your help.

Our installation documentation is here, which is the place to start as it gives some broader background information.

Using that, will need to go to the “manual installation” section for Samsung devices, which will then give more detailed device-specific instructions. Here is a direct link to the Samsung S5e section.

Thanks a lot. I found it meanwhile and started the installation. Now Im Stuck at point 8.

From recovery => Apply update => Apply from ADB => adb sideload <rom.zip> iodéOS for Tab S5e (Wi-Fi) |

I can’t find a file named rom.zip.

Any hint?

That just means the .zip filename of the full build. So iode-6.12-20260131-gts4lvwifi-ota.zip in this case. The full command is then this:

adb sideload iode-6.12-20260131-gts4lvwifi-ota.zip (assuming this .zip is in the same directory you are in when you execute the command)

Thank you very much for your support.

It seems that I have destroyed one tablet completely while trying to install.

I bought another S5E and finally the installation worked.

For a newbie like me, the installation was really complicated and the manual is very short.

Finally I managed it by discussion every installation step with Mistral Le Chat.

I asked him again and again, when I was not sure, what to to.

So finally I managed but I wouldn’t have done it without Le Chat.

If you have any notes on what steps need more detail or clarification I can submit a request to our documentation writer to consider updates.

But yes the Samsung process is a bit more involved as it isn’t supported by the graphical installer, and unlocking, etc. can be slightly more involved than on other devices.

I first flashed a current Lineage according to Lineage instructions and then iodé. I found it easy, even though I’m not a pro, more of an old-timer.
