[Request] Implement Airpods BT fix

Hi everyone,

It would be possible to implement in IodéOS the fix needed by LibrePods ( GitHub - kavishdevar/librepods: AirPods liberated from Apple's ecosystem. ) to make Airpods work on Android?

Google is just ignoring the request at this point but I think it would be a very appreciated addition considering the number of +1 in the official IssueTracker (Google Issue Tracker)

Thanks for the inquiry.

I’ll open an issue for this feature request, but I think the best place to see this implemented would be at the LineageOS level, then all derivatives (including iodéOS) would benefit. We typically don’t expand our scope to hardware enablement / fixes.

I agree with you, also someone from Lineage said here (https://www.reddit.com/r/LineageOS/comments/1p1at0b/does_librepods_work_in_lineageos_or_can_anyone/) that if someone submits a change to it they would likely merge it.

Maybe it would be a case of downstream changes making it upstream?

Well yes, certainly if / when our devs implement it then we would consider a PR to upstream, we are all in this together. I do know our dev team is quite loaded right now so we need to wait and see when they may have capacity to test and implement this.
