Hello everyone!
Which UnifiedPush service/app can you recommend?
For example, ntfy and Sunup are listed on UnifiedPush.
The ntfy app (F-Droid) has not been updated since December 2022. I take a critical view of this and fear that ntfy is no longer being actively developed.
Any experience with Sunup or other UnifiedPush services?
Or maybe it is just working fine, and doesn’t need any more work.
I also keep using ntfy, it seems to work well, but yes it doesn’t seem to be actively maintained.
What apps are you finding you need UnifiedPush for, by the way? Nearly all for me are handled by microG, maybe you have that disabled?
I know you weren’t asking me but…
The only app I have found that needs ntfy and doesn’t work with microG is <polycule> (‘A geeky and efficient [matrix] client for power users’). I tried it but don’t use it regularly, as it seems a bit ‘flakey’. In Settings | Push notifications, you can choose 'Google Firebase Messaging`, 'Unified Push, or ‘Disable push notifications’
I have decided to use ntfy.
PS: As soon as I have Redis running on my self-hosted Nextcloud instance, I will test NextPush.
