I have been avoiding two updates on the Aurora Store on my Pixel Tablet (tangorpro) running iodeOS 6.9 for some time now, at least until I carved out time to have a look at the forums or post the question as I am now. Well, it’s a long holiday weekend, so I figured I’d go ahead and ask: can anyone tell me about “Android System Intelligence” and “Private Compute Services”? Is it “safe” (from a privacy and security standpoint) to allow the updates of these two components via Aurora Store? The names, at least to me, raise an eyebrow and have me wondering…
@rik Would it be ok to uninstall “Android System Intelligence” and “Private Compute Services” which come pre-installed via Aurora? I was shocked to see these Google apps pre-installed.
Apps like that listed in Aurora are not actually the Google versions, instead they are “spoofed” by iodé. If you attempt to update them from the open iodéOS / LineageOS / microG actual packages, these updates will fail as the signature on the Google ones will not match. So what you can do to hide them away is “long press” and “add to blacklist” so they don’t show (but again the versions installed are NOT from Google even though Aurora thinks so
