Pixel 9a Guidance

Seeking guidance from those who know, please.

I’ve an unlocked Pixel 9a on PureTalk (US cell company.) Would like to know/understand the following please:

  1. Since the phone’s IMEI is recognized by the aforementioned carrier: Would that be affected by changing the operating system to iode? Is there a possibility the phone will cease working on the PureTalk network?
  2. The phone is running Android v15.
  3. OEM unlocking can be switched on.
  4. Are there any security concerns, possible leaks because of the hardware the Pixel 9a is built with?

I see other replies from you after you installed, so I will only be brief here:

  • Your IMEI is not changed (by default) when you flash a different ROM, typically the carrier then is not concerned with what ROM you are running, as their typical registration approval depends on device / IMEI which is not different.
  • Before flashing, do make sure you do not have a Google account registered on the device, as if it isn’t removed, then when you flash a new system it may trigger “FRP - Factory Reset Protection” which would not allow you unlock it again and prevent installing apps from Google Play (Aurora)
  • Regarding “leaks” it depends on what you mean and from what level, but we flash the entire system and with the iodé blocker you can see and restrict any network activity.

Thanks for taking the time to respond: greatly appreciate the support.

All successfully installed. Ported number today and have made a few calls. All seems right as rain.
