Im pleased you found a solution, I ended up for pixel going back to stock and selling the phone , as also had problem with optical fingerprint sensor being tempermental.
Got a pixel 9, it has a the better ulrasonic fingerprint sensor, as a replacement, but still had problem with iode and voxi, so dumped voxi for lebara (vodafone again) and no problems. I was given a Samsung S23 and Im liking it, Ive disabled, uninstalled , replace all samsung apps, removed samsung and google accounts and liking it now, its slightly smaller and lighter. My threat model is simple. Still have pixel 9 and tempted to install calyxos beta with is availble for pixels and moto’s.
