Pixel 9 – iodeOS: GCam won’t install + Google Contacts won’t sync

Hi everyone,

I just installed iodeOS on my Pixel 9, coming from CalyxOS, and I’ve run into two issues I can’t solve:

  1. Pixel Camera (GCam): I haven’t been able to install it in any way. I tried with the official app, with downloaded APKs, and also via Aurora Store, but no version works on my device.
  2. Google Contacts synchronization: I can’t get it to sync either, not with the official Google Contacts app, nor by manually installing an APK, nor through Aurora Store.

Has anyone experienced the same on a Pixel 9 with iodeOS? Is there any solution or workaround you can recommend?

Thanks in advance!

There are other threads here on this, I will be submitting an issue so we can track it, but yes there is an issue with this. Unoffical GCam ports work as a short term solution.

Install and use DavX5 from F-Droid to sync Google contacts / calendars. No need for the Gogole contacts app.

Thank you very much, wait for the iode team for the camera and I’ll try “davx5.”

The lead dev was able to address the issue, but it requires a new build. I believe the patch is made (but I don’t see it pushed yet). I’ve been told it will show up in the next beta update (likely a few weeks off).
