Phone App - Caller ID Masking

Pixel 9a

Before calling my carrier I’d like to know if this is possibly an OS issue.

I cannot access “Additional Settings” under Calling Accounts in the phone app.

I get the following errors.

Call settings error, unexpected response from network.

Click okay and then…

Call settings error, network or SIM card error.

I’ve had a blocked number with every phone. My new service doesn’t support it as a system wide option. I need to control it from the phone and can’t access the feature (above errors.)

Does *31# work?

Undo with #31#

I’d like to avoid using a per call feature if I can. And yes, using something like *67 before dialing works.

The fact I can’t access a resident feature of the phone concerns me.

That command is valid until you cancel it with #31#

Brilliant, I had no idea this was possible. Always so much to learn!

Sorry for the delay in replying. I’ve finally gotten my phone is a relatively comfortable state of usability.

I just tried this *31# and #31# toggle.

To quote Yoda, “brilliant it is.”

I love simple and elegant and this qualifies.

Merry and Happy Holidays.
