Hello,
I installed iodeOS 5.5 GSI (Android 14) on an Oukitel WP5 Pro.
The OTA updates do not work.
How can I apply them manually?
Do you have an ETA for fixing that?
is your device a a/b device?
yes
Then it should work, don’t know why not
Does this have to do with the fact that
1.the device does not support seamless upgrade?
2.the OEM bootloader is still locked after iodeOS intalllation?
a/b device is not enough!
The system must also support Seamless Upgrades
otherwise the OTA update attempt will end at worst with an error message.
You can check all available parameters with the app Treble Info v5.2.3
Alternatively and for older devices, Treble Info v5.1.1 app from the F-Droid Store can also be used.
Thanks.
Is there a way to apply the updates manually?
Yes
Every new gsi version can be installed via fastboot
Yes. see for example iodéOS Successful classic manual update …
Lenovo Smart Tab M10 HD TB-X306FA
Successful classic manual update from build iode-5.5-20240930-arm64_ab to iode-5.6-20241017-arm64_ab (beta) viafastboot reboot fastboot
>fastboot flash system
(without data loss). Side note: OTA update is not possible due to the system not supportingSeamless Upgrades
.
However, not every device has the ability to execute the classic fastboot
commands - we are thinking in particular of the peculiarities of Samsung devices.
Thanks.
For some reason, I had forgotten to unlock the bootloader in fastboot.
The bank apps and whatsapp are working now, even without being logged to google account via microg.
@man.of.earth at the end you could formulate the thread title positively, e.g.
OTA updates do not work - but now it do!
I marked it a solved. I can’t find the option to edit the title (to add [SOLVED] in it, to be more visible).
