Open issue: Launcher shows deleted Thunderbird app - iodéOS 6.4 - FP5

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Delete Thunderbird app from Settings > Apps > Preinstalled apps
  2. Update iodéOS to iodéOS 6.4
  3. Open Trebuchet launcher
  4. Tap shortcut “com.fsck…”

Expected behaviour:
No shortcut for Thunderbird visible.

Actual behaviour:
A shortcut for Thunderbird named “com.fsck…” is visible.
When tapping the shortcut a toast message “net.thunderbird.android.ThunderbirdApp keeps stopping” appears.

Device model:
Fairphone 5

iodéOS version:
6.4-20250521-FP5

Other details:

The issue still exists on iodéOS 6.5.

Can you tap “Disable”?

I can. Then the shortcut disappears again.
However, the question is rather, why it is there in the first place. There should not be a launcher shortcut if the app has been deleted.
That’s the issue.

As one can read in other threads, other users have similar issues with other preinstalled apps that they removed.
