Hi, unfortunatly I’ve read the instructions on LineageOS too late (which tells stock A15 is required) and upgraded a new OnePlus11 to CPH2449_16.0.2.400 (GLO) and wanted then to install iodeOS.
Unfortunatly, I cannot enter the bootloader even with OEM enabled. There are references that this is no longer working. Tried to downgrade now inside the OS, but did not find proper image and instructions, via fastboot it’s not working, device is blocking.
Can one provide me any hints or is this device lost for iodeOS and I have to look for another one and stop the stock-upgrade chain at a specific version.
OnePlus has introduced Anti Rollback [ARB] with ColorOS 16.0.3.501 (500, .501 or .503 ). So once you update your device to version 16.0.3.501, the anti-rollback fuse is blown. In other words, its value will be changed from 0 to 1. This is exactly similar to how Knox gets tripped on Samsung devices upon unlocking its bootloader; it’s also an e-fuse embedded in the motherboard, which gets fused upon locking. So, downgrading a device from OxygenOS 16 to an older version might lead to the device getting hardbricked.

However, since you have installed Vesion 16.0.2.400 (GLO), you should at least be able to restore your non-functional OnePlus 11 to Verson 16.0.2.400 (GLO) using the OPLUS EDL tool, and then downgrade Android 16 to 15/OxygenOS 16 to 15 via Fastboot Firmware Flasher. Instructions for this can be found on the WWW.
@iodysseus thank you for reply… stock 16.0.2.400 (GLO) is working on the phone, it’s not broken, but reboot into bootloader is not working, it restarts, somehow try to start bootloader, but unsuccessful and then restart into stock OS. Same happen after poweroff and using documented power-on sequence.
FirmwareFlasher I’ve also tried, but upload of the images is blocked.
So the question would be what to do to get 16.0.2.400 into a state that it reboots to bootloader and/or accept FirmwareFlasher uploads using “fastbootd”.
Or find a stock firmware which is accepted by 16.02.400 to downgrade with running OS (all the ones I found so far are not working…)
@iodysseus - thank you very much for the hint, finally flashing via EDL to CPH2449GDPR_11_A.11 I was able to unlock the bootloader on this version. Will now update to A15, check that (V|SMS)o(LTE|WLAN) is working and then install iodeOS.
@pbieringIODE
downgrading is not risk-free and isn’t one of the easiest measures, but you’ve managed to resuscitate your OnePlus 11 5G and are now on the right one to install iodéOS. Bravo!
What we learned is that the latest stock Android update offered (e. g. CPH2449_16.0.2.400 (GLO)) is not always ideal. A bad example is also evident with Samsung OneUI 8.x: after upgarding, the bootloader can no longer be unlocked, downgrading is impossible.
@iodysseus - lesson learned…it’s working now, but had issues also with latest A15 and 7.2, used then A11 and 7.1 + OTA update to 7.2. VoLTE is also proper working.
Haven’t proper recorded my steps, but at least on A15 (not tested on A14) the instruction set is not 100% working as reboot to “bootloader” will no longer work, therefore rebooted to “fastbootD”, which let the installer pass and install the iode image, but then it won’t boot and looks like entering the download mode again.
Replay is no longer possible, phone setup with iode is completed.
